The world’s largest 24,000 TEU mega ship “HMM GDANSK” was debuts at KMCT on July 9, 2020 for her maiden voyage at Kaohsiung port. At 399.9 meters in length and 61 meters in width, it called at KMCT and set the record for mega ship berthing not only at Kaohsiung port, but also in Taiwan.
As a modern, high-tech terminal operator, KMCT operates four berths with a total length of 1,500 meters, a draft of 16.5 meters and is able to accommodate 18,000 TEU and even bigger vessels. KMCT is adjacent to the second channel of Kaohsiung Harbor and close by the turning basin, thus shortening the turning time and berthing time.
