In order to raise the work efficiency, shorten the operation time, and reduce energy consumption during vessel operation, KMCT is equipped with the power recycling system for retrieving the electricity.

The terminal is installed with "Alternative Maritime Power(AMP) which can supply the shore with power for the modern ships during berthing vehicles were added and used in container yards for energy saving and carbon reduction."

Both of the administrative building and the gate complex were installed with solar power panels on the roof, and complex solar and wind power lights were set in administrative zone. Moreover, the roadbed and the ground of the terminal were backfilled with the sand piles coming from dredging. The operation area has built a green belt to preserve the original trees of Houg-Mao Gang (San Domingo Harbor). The container cleaning area is set with a sewage collection and disposal facility that can degrease oil and remove the contaminant from water. The administrative building area and shipside office are installed with industrial and domestic wastewater recycling and treatment facilities. It is estimated that the ratio of sewage treatment reuse is more than 50%, contributing to the recycling of resources and reach the long-term for sustainable development of green terminal.
